In general, the harvesting time for walnuts begins at the end of September. As soon as the ripe nuts fall from the tree, the harvest can begin. The nuts should then be collected quickly so that they are not exposed to moisture. For smaller amounts, the small fruit picking machine OB 40 or the hand Rollblitz are ideal.

The moisture of the nuts is determined with the help of moisture meters. These measure the residual moisture of the nut core and are thus significant for the remaining drying time.

As an option, the cracking machine WAL MAN can also be expanded with a shell remover. This allows the nuts to be cracked and at the same time separates the precious core from the shell.
